I know it's a relatively accepted tradition and it's not too strange to name your son after their father but what do people ACTUALLY think of this?
Would it be weird having two people with the same first name in the same household?
Would the child have identity issues as they get older because they have the same name as their dad?
What do people in the community/family think of a family who name their child after the father?
Any input at all would be appreciated, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I think its incredibly common. Friends of mine that have done it usually call the child JR or a nickname to differentiate the two. We are working on baby number 4, and neither of us are big fans of family names but if we have a girl, we are going a nontraditional route. She will have my first name - SARA - but have a different middle name than mine and she will go by that. We've landed on Sara Elizabeth and she will go by Elizabeth or Elle.

my brother was named after our dad and I always found it weird and confusing, and my brother hated that he was William II because it sounded snobby
